Description
The VM Motori SR506 is a 3.0 l V6 diesel engine developed for special applications: defence vehicles, emergency generators and off-road use. It uses 2,000 bar common rail direct injection, a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) with intercooler, chain-driven timing and 4 valves per cylinder.
The electronic control unit communicates over CAN BUS SAE J1939, simplifying integration with vehicle or genset systems. Its power-to-weight ratio is high for its class.
