1. Professional or industrial
Professional vacuum cleaners are designed for daily cleaning: cleaning contractors, offices, hotels, restaurants, shops. They are compact, easy to handle and usually have one to three by-pass motors.
Industrial vacuum cleaners are built for heavy-duty work and large volumes of material: workshops, construction, production, wood and metal processing. They have larger tanks, sturdier filtration and, on three-phase models, turbines for continuous operation.
2. Dust, liquids or both
Most models handle dust and liquids. If you often pick up water or other liquids, a tilting tank and a drain hose make emptying much easier.
3. Number of motors
More motors mean higher suction and airflow. One motor is enough for routine cleaning; two or three for large areas, lots of liquid or heavy debris.
4. The tank
- Volume: 15–40 L for daily cleaning and mobility; 50–80 L or more for heavy-duty work and liquids.
- Material: stainless steel resists knocks and cleaning chemicals; plastic is lighter.
5. Power supply and accessories
Single-phase models run from any standard socket; three-phase models are for continuous industrial applications. Check the accessory diameter and the kit included (brushes, nozzles, hose, filters) so the vacuum is ready for your application.
